How to solve the problem of ball valve castings stuck

In industrial piping systems, ball valve castings are important control components, and their stability and reliability directly affect the overall performance of the system. However, valve jamming is very common in ball valve castings. This failure not only causes difficulties in system operation, but also poses a threat to production safety. Causes of valve jamming
Valve jamming is usually the result of the interweaving of multiple factors. First, the deflection of the valve stem is one of the main causes of this problem. Long-term use or improper operation may cause the valve stem to deflect under uneven force, making it impossible for the valve to open or close smoothly. Secondly, the wear of the sealing surface is also an important factor causing valve jamming. The sealing surface is affected by scouring and corrosion during long-term contact with the fluid, and gradually wears, which significantly increases the operating resistance of the valve. In addition, foreign matter blockage is also a common cause of valve jamming. Impurities, particulate matter, etc. in the pipeline may enter the valve and get stuck on the valve stem or sealing surface, thereby hindering the normal operation of the valve.

Valve Cleaning
When dealing with the valve jamming problem, first close the ball valve and ensure that it is in a safe closed state. Next, use an appropriate detergent or solvent to thoroughly clean the valve to remove dirt and particles that may cause jamming. For difficult-to-remove dirt, it is recommended to use a high-pressure water gun for flushing. When cleaning, pay special attention to key areas such as the valve stem, sealing surface and throttle to ensure that all impurities and dirt are thoroughly removed.
Lubricate the valve stem
After cleaning, lubricate the valve stem with a lubricant or lubricating oil designed for ball valves. This process can effectively reduce the friction between the valve stem and the valve body, reduce operating resistance, and make the valve open and close more smoothly. When selecting a lubricant, consider its high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and excellent lubrication properties to ensure that it can still maintain good lubrication in harsh environments.
Inspect and replace seals
Damage to the seal is one of the important reasons for valve jamming. Therefore, when dealing with valve jamming problems, it is necessary to carefully check the condition of the seal. If the seal shows signs of wear, aging or damage, it should be replaced immediately. When replacing, make sure that the new seal matches the valve model and specifications, and install and debug in strict accordance with the installation requirements.
Adjust the valve stem position
The problem of valve jamming caused by valve stem deflection can be solved by adjusting the valve stem position. First, close the valve and disconnect the power or air supply. Then, use a special tool to remove the valve stem from the valve body and check whether it is deflected or bent. If a problem is found, the valve stem can be corrected with a correction tool to ensure that it is restored to the correct position. After the correction is completed, reinstall the valve stem back to the valve body and perform necessary debugging and testing to ensure its normal operation.
